so, i'm back in Perth after my short holiday up at Hillary's. i am still looking very chaota-ed, or in T's words, char siewed, but at least i have lost my red nose. it was an awesome camp, very VERY action-packed (and uber tiring), so much so that i cannot list every single thing that happened there in this post.
but here are a few highlights of my very first Perth camp experience:
...there is this girl called Jenny/MeiLan and she looks alot like me. Day 1 of camp? people were huddling together in groups and staring unabashedly at me everytime i walked past (yeah, no one pretended to be paiseh at all xD)...which was REALLY WEIRD because i knew that it was me they were looking at and talking about. LOL. i suppose i can see how people think we look alike, it's our body proportions. same size limbs, height, almost similar hair..it was bizarre. anyways, she's from KMC and i will probably see her tonight at the combined meeting.

...i led my group together with a girl called Joanna. we were Team Esther (and we're the most OSSUM, no matter what anyone else says) and even though we epic-failed at throwing tennis balls over a net using a piece of plastic sheet (our final score was like..8? and another group had like 50+. T.T), we fared really well in the pass-the-wet-sponge game (compared to the group we were competing against, no offense :P) and we totally OWNED the alphabet game. OH YEAH!
We were noob at this game.
Pass the sponge! Pass the sponge!
...Skit Finale Night. each group had to include their group name plus a superhero & an era. So Team Esther (that's us) happened to get Naruto and future. :P through that we discovered many talents, whether it was narrating, or acting, or making props..it was just really great to see everyone working together to make our skit the best! well, it would've been the best if we had kept to the time limit. PLUS, i now know how to robot dance. i think K and I made cool background fillers.
Naruto & Queen Esther
Robots :)
...creepy crawlies and the like. BIG BIG EEW. Day 1 : E found this small, slithery worm/snake/lizard thing near our luggages and while i went berserk, she braved the grossness of it all and used her slipper to get rid of it. it was eventually a successful attempt, although halfway it got cut in half. so..double the grossness, double the effort to get it out. E's Legend, alright. :) oh, OH. and who could forget that big, fat lizard lurking outside our dorm room?! there was also a ginormous spider somewhere in our dorm that was on D's bed..and then it disappeared. ugh. ><
...250 Asian youths stuck together for 4 days. it was incredible how many doppelgangers we found! ok, so maybe mine topped everybody else's, but it was still..funny. there were look-alikes for chengloon, richard, ingming, jason lau, and alot more that i cannot remember atm.
...Bodybuilding sessions ie morning aerobics! it was ridiculous, it was funny, it was stupid, it was enough to make my quads hurt the next day. almost every team incorporated 'dance' moves from here into their skit. like this:
1,2,3,4, SuperJesus! SuperJesus!
...loved how singspiration sessions were made up of different youth teams. it was interesting how each team had their own styles and choice of songs. enjoyed it tremendously. :) but sucked how the screen was couldn't be projected any higher. couldn't see anything behind all the tall people.
...i still can't get over how young Pastor Ben looks! Theme talks were good, workshop was okay..and i either slept in the rest or went to shower. speaking of which, queue for showers were epicly long too :( i resorted to showering during weird in-between times. S was Queen of the Showers: i don't know how she did it, but double thumbs up to her!
that's me sleeping. :P
...food-wise..not tooooooo bad. brekkies were the best, followed by lunches and dinners. T,C & K from Team Esther had this BRILLIANT idea to hold group discussions near where the food was so that we'd always be first in line when the meals were ready to be served. :) :) food queues were just too epicly long =/ i heart pancakes + maple syrup + yoghurt + fruit. also, the caterers were..BIG LADIES. 0.0 not big as in fat, but big as in, tall and towering and giant and...you get the idea.
although i didn't get to sit next to any hot interstate dudes (IMC was too big we took up almost the entire coach, Andrew lies!) or swim in the beach or talk to Chandypants (LOL) i had heaps of fun. :) Good fellowship, fun times..'twas a camp of ossumpossumness!!
i heart Team Esther :)
p.s. sorry for abrupt ending, this post was getting abit too long and wordy for me.
