righto, here goes. today's FAHB (foundies of animal and human bio) lecture was the most interesting by far. titled 'Human Cultural Evolution', it was about the human race and theories people have come up with. here's some of the things i took away with me.

- mothers in some african tribes (or ulu ulu places which don't practice birth control) actually have to place value in their children and choose one over the other or risk losing all of them which is a big big big big BIG NO NO, coz then there'd be no uh..future generations to uh..carry on the..longetivity of the human race? [apologies! i don't know how to put it into words. >< ]

- females prefer slightly feminized male facial shapes..and somehow it's affected by the menstrual cycle [o.0 ya meh..]

- firstborns usually have more children eventhough laterborns have sex first [i think this is crap..but just in case..CHOPSTICKS at the ready! xD]

i like this one :

- the 2:4 ratio. guys with long ring fingers compared to the index finger: maths, physics, engineering; run and draw well, good at perceiving shapes; autism and musicians. "Men who make lots of good music make lots of good sperm." -John Manning [i just lost it. hilarious when u actually think about who enters your mind first. xD ...and no, im not telling. =P]

there's heaps load of other stuff that i think is just plain hogwash. but pretty interesting all the same. yeah i know, we're all going -___________-" now aren't we.

welll..good thing about this was that i didn't fall asleep during this lecture. for once!

..but it is terribly sad to know that i actually need things like this in lectures for me to stay awake.
