Blog's still got a heartbeat

Gosh I haven't been here in a while.

This post will not be an update of my life in any way, but it will be of random thoughts that have come into my head every so often since the year started.

"If you love something, let it go free. If it doesn't come back, you never had it.
If it comes back, love it forever."
- Doug Horton

True story, bro. I've seen it happen, and I can attest to it. :)

Sometimes it's okay to take a chance: if things turn out well, you will be happy;
and if not, oh well, that's life - you will be wise.

I'm not much of a risk taker, but sometimes it's necessary when the situation calls for it.
And what better way to learn than from experience?

"You'd want to be with your best friend when you're not in love."

This is something I hold very closely to my heart. Love is a feeling. It gives you emotional highs and butterflies in your stomach and makes you giddy with happiness, but if or when it fades, the person you want to be with is someone you'll love no matter what.
Like your bff. :)

 "What are the advantages of having children?"

I always thought my sister was a bit over the top with her whole 'I-refuse-to-have-children-when-I-grow-up!' hoo-ha, but thinking about it more recently, I've only managed to come up with ONE advantage...which is, the amount of joy and pride you get in seeing your kid succeed in life.  But that alone sits on many many ifs. And succeeding in failing doesn't count. I guess there are just so many variables in the process that it's just scary. My mom says having children is always a gamble, you never know how your kid is going to turn out. My take on that is, (if I ever have a kid), to be the best mom I could possibly be in bringing them up, and hope to God that it. just. works. and my kid turns out fine.
